#ARIA BROOKS SERIES#
I familiarized myself with the actual song first, then I started writing my version.īTCF: Your YouTube series – “The Queen Chronicles”!! – What’s the scoop on this?ĪRIA: I thought of the idea to make a series that illustrates certain parts of my journey as an actor and as a person. Then later I got the idea to combine my love of parodies and my love of Tabitha Brown. The girls in the video are my friends and some of my mom’s former students, so it was really cool working and having fun with them.īTCF: You recently created a video parody “Cabbage” where you not only tribute it to Tabitha Brown, and you rap! Can you tell us about how you came up with the concept and some more about it?ĪRIA: I am a huge Tabitha Brown fan, so one day I was trying to master her dialect and commonly used phrases by her. It’s like therapy for me.īTCF: It was so amazing to view your “Truly Me”music video – absolutely love it! How and why did you come up with this concept? What did the girls in it think about being a part of this?ĪRIA: When I wrote the song, I knew I wanted the concept to symbolize the competition that society brings on based on your looks, just in a more literal way. While writing songs and scripts allow me to write my emotions and feelings down. Acting allows me to release my emotions into a fictional character.

No judgment to those who wear them.but I think we should agree as a society to give it a break.“Have a good day but if you can’t, don’t go messin’ up someone else’s” – Tabitha BrownīTCF: As such a young writer, filmmaker, editor, singer, producer, and much more – how do you feel your creativity helps you deal with connecting to yourself and helps you grow in your daily life?ĪRIA: As a creative, I use the arts to express my emotions and feelings. GL: What fashion trend of 2021 should be officially retired this summer?ĪB: I think chunky sneakers and chunky rings need to be put to rest. Green is my favorite color in general, and the red hair phase is such a vibe, so it's hard for me to decide. It's hard for me to pick my favorite between red and green. What hair colors are still on your beauty bucket list? Which has been your personal favorite so far?ĪB: Oh my goodness, I love changing up my hair color! I plan on getting purple, orange, blonde, blue-and I want to experiment with multiple colors at once. GL: We love your braids and the fun hair colors you've been experimenting with lately. It is poor mental hygiene to give all of yourself away. As hard as that is for me, I realize I need to watch how much I share and who I share it with.

Do you have a personal mental health mantra that helps you through tough moments?ĪB: My mental health mantra right now is to move in silence. GL: You've written songs about your struggles with mental health.

It was such a cool moment to get to vibe and have fun with him. One day, in between filming, he found a piano and all of us started singing, playing and dancing together. GL: What's your favorite behind-the-scenes memory from working with Joshua on the movie?ĪB: One thing about Josh is that if there is a piano set, he is definitely going to play it. It was pretty fun, but going back and watching the video is kind of embarrassing! My friend ended up burning her mouth with this really spicy hot sauce. What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done with a friend IRL?Īria Brooks: One time with my friend, when we would make fun YouTube videos years ago, we did the "what's in my mouth" challenge-where one person is blindfolded and the other gives them outrageous food items to eat. I was nervous because we had some crazy foods to try. Girls' Life: Better Nate Than Ever focuses on an epic friend-venture. Keep reading for her hottest takes (and hottest goss about working with HSMTMTS star Joshua Bassett). The 15-year-old says she shares some of Libby's qualities (especially her A+ hype woman ways)-but there's a lot more to the actress (/comedian/singer/songwriter/mental health advocate/e what we mean?). As Libby in Disney+'s Better Nate Than Ever (about a Broadway fanboy who travels to New York with his best friend to audition for a musical), Aria Brooks is the quintessential spunky, witty best friend.
